Why El Paso?

Why El Paso?

El Paso, nestled in the southwest corner of Texas between New Mexico and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, is home to a rich culture, a large mountain range, and delicious food. Whether you’re moving because of a job, the military, or another reason, you have a lot in store. El Paso’s culture and nightlife are booming and the city is constantly looking for ways to expand it’s horizons, from adding a beautiful baseball stadium downtown to adding shopping and entertainment centers around the city. So if you’re asking yourself, “Why El Paso?”, we can help you answer that.

Culture

El Paso draws its culture from Texas, Mexico, and New Mexico, and it is evident in its food, art, and music. El Paso is a bilingual, bicultural community with a rich history and great skill when it comes to making Mexican food. No matter where you are in El Paso, you can see its unique culture seep through our everyday lives.

History

A part of what makes El Paso’s culture neat is it’s unique and mixed history, which includes cowboys, outlaws, and both Native American and Mexican history as well. El Paso has seen the likes of Billy the Kid, John Wesley Hardin, and Hugh and Juana Stephenson. Just walking through downtown El Paso you’ll see the Plaza Theatre, Wigwam Saloon, and other sites home to some of history’s most interesting stories. You can even visit Concordia Cemetery to learn more and see the gravesites of some of El Paso’s craziest outlaws.

Statistics

Statistically, El Paso is one of the safest cities in the United States and has been ranked in the top safest cities in the U.S. and Texas multiple times. With a population of almost 700,000, El Paso is the fifth largest city in Texas and the 23rd in the country.
