Westside & Upper Valley

Restaurants and Stores: The westside is chock full of tasty restaurants and chic stores, such as El Paso’s own Hillside Coffee, Crave, Nona’s Pizza, and Uptown Cheapskate. You can also find classics like Corner Bakery, Marshall’s, and the Sunland Park Mall.

Schools and School Districts: The west side is home to El Paso Independent School District schools, such as Mitzi Bond elementary school, Franklin High School, Coronado High School, and Lincoln Middle School, among others. You also have the Canutillo school district, home to Canutillo High School and Northwest Early College High School

Unique Facts: Many parts of the upper valley receive water for their yards through an irrigation system and Rosa’s Cantina, located on Doniphan is the setting for Marty Robbins’ 1959 song, “El Paso.”

Downtown

Restaurants and Stores: Downtown is the hub of El Paso’s art and culture scene and is where you can find the Plaza Theatre, Anson 11, Cafe Central, and pawn and dress shop galore. You can also find the recently opened Hotel Indigo, one of El Paso’s finest hotels.

Schools and School Districts: Near downtown El Paso, in the El Paso Independent School District, you can find schools such as El Paso’s oldest–and most haunted– school, El Paso High along with Bowie High School and Aoy Elementary School.

Unique Facts: As one of the oldest parts of El Paso, the downtown area is home to the Wigwam Saloon and many haunted areas. You can even visit a pawn shop that has a real life mummy for sale! Neat right?

Central

Restaurants and Stores: Deep in central El Paso is where you can find some of the best Mexican food restaurants in the city. From Kiki’s and Delicious, to Good Luck Cafe and The Lucky Cafe (both next door to each other, they compete for the best menudo in the city). It’s also home to El Paso’s original Mo’z BBQ and House of Pizza.

Schools and School Districts: Central El Paso is primarily home to schools in the El Paso Independent School District, such as Austin High School and Bassett Middle School. You can also find many private schools, such as the renowned Cathedral High School and Loretto Academy.

Unique Facts: In Central El Paso, you can find many great hiking spots, including McKelligon Canyon, and you can visit the Wyler Aerial Tramway.

Northeast

Restaurants and Stores: One of the great things about the Northeast is that it’s home to many local stores and restaurants, such as the Han Mee Oriental Food Market and Casa de Torta.

Schools and School Districts: Andress High School, Chapin High School, and Transmountain Early College High School are just a few of the schools in northeast El Paso.

Unique Facts: The northeast of El Paso is growing at an incredible rate, with new homes, schools, and shopping centers being built every day.

Eastside & Lower Valley

Restaurants and Stores: On the eastside of El Paso, you can find three of El Paso’s malls; Bassett Place, Cielo Vista, and the Fountains at Farah. You can also visit many great locally-owned and chain restaurants.

Schools and School Districts: You can find schools in the El Paso, Socorro, and Ysleta districts, ranging from elementary schools to early college high schools.

Unique Facts: Bassett Place Mall has the only movie theater in El Paso with D-Box movie seats.

Far East Side

Restaurants and Stores: You can find fan favorites, such as El Taco Tote and Applebee’s on the far east side, along with El Paso originals, like Cafe Italia.
